Regions of the Earth have legally mandated standard time called time zones which are adjusted according to seasons the standard time zone and daylight saving time during summer. Mean solar time is the basis for standard time. ![]() The time of day is determined by the position of the sun, and man has devised a way to measure time. While those facing the sun experience daytime, those that are situated on the other side experience nighttime while it is dawn or afternoon in other locations. ![]() ![]() The Earth rotates on its axis and around the sun which causes different locations to experience different times of day and night.
